Founded in 1923 by Karl Vötterle and based in Kassel since 1927. Bärenreiter is known for its scholarly-critical complete editions, the encyclopaedia “Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart” and its commitment to contemporary music. Its editions carry the “Bärenreiter Urtext” seal of quality.

Bärenreiter Praha
The Czech music publisher within the Bärenreiter Publishing Group, privatised in 1991 and a member of the group since 1999. Its catalogue ranges from the Middle Ages to the present day, with an emphasis on practical Urtext editions and music education. Together with Bärenreiter it has published the critical complete edition of the works of Leoš Janáček since 1978.

Musikwissenschaftlicher Verlag Wien (MWV)
Founded in 1933 by the International Bruckner Society to publish the critical complete edition of the works of Anton Bruckner. Since 1960 it has also published the critical complete edition of the works of Hugo Wolf, and since 2015 the New Anton Bruckner Complete Edition.

Henschel Musik
A publisher and distributor of stage works, founded in Berlin in 1945 by Bruno Henschel; a department for the distribution of music-dramatic works followed in 1951. After German reunification the company joined the Bärenreiter Publishing Group and has been based in Kassel since 2001. Its catalogue includes Paul Dessau, Georg Katzer, Gerhard Rosenfeld and Rainer Kunad.

Georg Olms Verlag, Hildesheim
Since 2004 Georg Olms Verlag has been publishing the first critical complete edition of the works of Jean-Baptiste Lully, directed by Jérôme de La Gorce and Herbert Schneider. Each volume contains the score, the libretto and a critical commentary.

Founded in 1965 as a sister company of the book publisher Faber and Faber, initially to publish the music of Benjamin Britten. Today it is one of the leading independent British publishers of classical and contemporary music, with repertoire by Vaughan Williams, Holst and Arnold as well as works by Thomas Adès, George Benjamin and Oliver Knussen.

The music publishing arm of the Italian broadcasting corporation RAI, publishing contemporary music since 2002 and a partner of Rai Radio 3 and the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale. Its catalogue includes Salvatore Sciarrino, Giacomo Manzoni, Lucia Ronchetti and Francesco Filidei.

Bärenreiter · Alkor distributes the performance material available on hire for the stage works from Henle’s Haydn Complete Edition as well as selected material from the Beethoven Complete Edition. Helga Lühning’s editions of “Leonore” (1806) and “Fidelio” (1814) are also available with complete performance material.

Founded in 1874 by Edoardo Sonzogno and run by the Ostali family since 1923. The house is the home of verismo, with works by Mascagni, Leoncavallo, Giordano and Cilea; it also holds the rights to the Italian version of Bizet’s “Carmen”.

A music publisher founded in Bologna in 1993 with a catalogue of more than 2,000 titles – editions of early and contemporary music as well as books and periodicals. It includes the complete editions of Geminiani, Boccherini and Clementi.
