About Alkor
Alkor-Edition, the music publisher and agency for stage and orchestral works, began as a subsidiary company of the Oscar Brandstetter firm. This company was founded in 1934 in Leipzig to publish the Bruckner Complete Critical Edition and then was renamed Bruckner-Verlag Leipzig in 1944. After World War II, the head office initially moved to Wiesbaden until Managing Director Fritz Oeser chose Kassel as its permanent home in 1955. Since then, the publishing house has belonged to the Bärenreiter Group under the name of Alkor-Edition. Its Managing Directors are Barbara Scheuch-Vötterle, daughter of the founder of Bärenreiter Karl Vötterle, and her son Clemens Scheuch.
